Over twenty teams convened at MBA yesterday for the 29th annual Doug Hall Relays, and despite Prom urgency, we posted solid team finishes in select relays.
The weather was beautiful, the track was fast, the competition was stiff and our garnet and blue clad athletes competed very well!
GIRLS - Hannah Malkofsky-Berger (2nd 10'6) and Talia Barton (4th 8'0) combined to WIN the Pole Vault relay. Our throwers Jenna Fassinger SP 28'6.5 and Emily Davis DT 67'10 posted seasonal PR's, and our DMR placed 7th 14'26 (Lydia Warren, Lauryn Cravens, Hannah Malkofsky-Berger, Hannah Bollen).
Performance of the meet - some insider knowledge! Ralph and Emily Davis drove home from Chicago @ 10 hours to make this event! A college visit and flight cancellations prompted the drive home. Kudo's and many thanks to y'all!!!
BOYS - Our Middle Distance Medley Relay WON and SET a new meet record 3:30.56 (George Niarhos 200m, Gabriel Faulcon 200m, Simpson Tanner 400m, Dylan Groos 800m, eclipsing a record set in 1989 by Hillwood HS. Our Distance Medley placed 2nd overall in a very tightly contested race with Kellon Patey, Mackenzie Myers, Simpson Tanner and Dylan Groos combining in their efforts! Pole Vaulters George Niarhos 10'0 and Will Aaron 7'0 combined to post team points!
FROSH BOYS - our sprinters ruled the day posting big WINS in the 4x100m 45.88 and 4x200m 1:37.60 (Elijah Hong, Gabriel Faulcon, Daniel Lutes, Tyler Jacobs). Coach Rives noted "our handoffs were crisp and the boys were in great from!"
Performance of the meet - Clearly our MDMR crew demonstrated their prowess by demolishing the field and establishing a 25 year old meet record! Kudo's to the quartet of Niarhos, Faulcon, Tanner and Groos.
