Computer Science Week at USN

by Mark Littlefield, lower school computer coordinator

Computer science week was December 8-12, and we placed a strong emphasis on programming here at USN.
Though already exposed to programming on various levels, students were shown other avenues to help with their comprehension of how typing keys on a keyboard can cause a variety of results on the computer.

Many students learned the basics of programming by using Code.org.  Our fourth grade students presented their MaKey MaKey projects to visiting parents.  They were also surprised and a little nervous to see high schoolers venture down the hallway to test out their projects and answer questions about their creations.

Though we do various things with programming throughout the year here at USN, all grades K-4 concentrated on different angles of programming.
