Information for Kindergarten Parents

Welcome to the wonderful world of school-age care.  You will be delighted to know that University School has an outstanding school-age AFTER-SCHOOL program.  Our neighborhood atmosphere provides your children with the nurturing that they need while allowing them to relax and choose the pace of their afternoon.  This familiar environment provides children with a consistency throughout their Lower School years.  The multi-grade groupings provide a rich experience for all the members of our community, from Kindergarten through third grade.
 
Whatever your needs, we have a solution! Our program is open from 2:45pm until 6:00pm on all regularly scheduled school days as well as special hours on certain non-school days.   Although we ask that you contract for the year, you may register your child from one to five days a week and add extra days as needed.  If your schedule changes during the year, your contract and payment schedule will be adjusted.
For families that may not need daily child care, many new parents have discovered that enrolling in AFTER-SCHOOL for a day or two a week is a great way for their child to meet new friends and feel a part of our community outside of the daytime class structure. All AFTER-SCHOOL and non-school day services are only available to those who have contracted through the business office.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT DROP-INS AT ANY TIME.
 
You may have heard about our popular extra-curricular classes. They include dance, guitar, piano, voice, violin, foreign languages, lego robotics, and more. Information about the activities that AFTER-SCHOOL offers will become available on-line during the summer. You do not need to be enrolled in AFTER-SCHOOL to participate in these classes.
 
Please don’t worry about whether there are openings in AFTER-SCHOOL! We have a big program with lots of space both inside and outside. There is a low ratio of teachers to students.Please visit the AFTER-SCHOOL Portal at www.usn.org where you will find our philosophy, fees and policies.  If you decide that AFTER-SCHOOL is right for you, fill out the on-line registration.  In the event that you are unsure of your needs for next year, please reserve a place now.  We can confirm your schedule during the summer.  Once you are in our system, you will receive helpful information that will help you navigate your new USN AFTER-SCHOOL adventure.
