USNA Volunteer Spotlight: Kim Sandler Rhodes '01

Get to know an Artcletic Co-Chair through a question and answer session with Volunteer Coordinator Helen Jahangir.
Q: Names of children that are at USN and include grades.
A: Madison ‘29 and JJ ’33

Q: How many years have you been involved at USN?
A: 34 years

Q: How are you/have you been involved at USN?
A: I graduated from USN in 2001 as a member of the 13 Year Club.  I've stayed involved as an alum and now as a parent. I am co-chair of Artcletic 2022 along with Donna Gilliam and Amy Manoukian.

Q: Why do you do it?
A: I love being a part of the USN community.

Q: Would you do it again? Why?
A: Without question.  I found an incredible group of friends at USN who are among my closest friends today.  It is amazing to have known each other for decades and now to see our children at school together.

Q: Words of wisdom? Piece of advice?
A: "Find out who you are and do it on purpose." - Dolly Parton

Q: What would you like to see change? Stay the same?
A: I hope more parents and families who recently joined USN will have opportunities to volunteer. It's a great way to meet new people.

Q: What do you love most about USN?
A: The campus feels like home.  There have been so many changes and improvements over the years, but it is still the same in the best possible way.

Q: What else do you have going on in your life outside of coordinating Artcletic?
A: Outside of coordinating Artcletic, I am an Associate Professor of Radiology at Vanderbilt and Co-Chair of the Vanderbilt Lung Screening Program. I  enjoy spending time with my family and a beautiful fall in Nashville.
