University School of Nashville is pleased to announce 20 percent of the Class of 2022 is being recognized for top PSAT scores.

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. has named seniors Devon Brown, Juno Callen, Penelope Graham, Stewart Hall, Erin Joyce, Ellie Klein, Stella Leibeskind, Lillian Martin, Joshua Muellenbach, and Amelie Soslow as commended students. A Letter of Commendation from USN and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation was presented to these scholastically talented seniors earlier this month. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. They place among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

In September, the National Merit Scholarship Corp. named seniors Collin Chan, Ophelia Cherry-Pulay, Daniel Guo, Caroline Keiper, Alex Lara, Sam Luffman, Eliza Nichols, Rohan Ramachandran, Ellie Rothman, Saul Sharfstein, and Kati Tong as Semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These 11 USN students were selected as among the highest-scoring entrants in Tennessee from the pool of students who took the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They have an opportunity to continue in the competition for 6,870 National Merit Scholarships, which will be awarded in spring 2025.

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. is a nonprofit organization providing scholarships underwritten by funds from the nonprofit, businesses, and higher education institutions that share its goals of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence.
