The game was all USN from the opening kickoff! We have been focusing on connecting passes with our outside players and our central players did just that. We did well to use Indigo Petraglia '29 and Hadley Green '29 on the left side, where we spent most of the first half. Hadley quickly opened up the scoring with a strong shot from inside the 18 yd box on a cross from Charlotte Kehler '29. It wasn't long before Hadley had the ball again barreling down the left side and buried another goal on the assist from Amelia Wilson '29.
Kenzie Burke '29 who has played at the forward position most of the season got her first goal of the year (unassisted) on a great move past the last line of defense. Hadley Green got our fourth and final goal of the first half on an assist from Elizabeth Geiger '30.
The second half we kept our focus on getting the ball to the end line before we crossed the ball -- and we wanted to do that by getting our crosses off of the goal keeper. Layla Jahangir '29 found Amelia Wilson on the play just as we wrote it up! This was Amelia's first goal of the year, but wouldn't be her last of the game. However, Kenzie was next, finishing an excellent cross from fellow forward, Sydney Lasher '29. Amelia would score our 7th and final goal of the game on a cross from Kenzie.
Tate Dawkins '30 finished the game with a shutout in goal.
It was great play all around and we look forward to keeping the scoring momentum going in our final games of the season!
