The Tigers made the journey to Knoxville to face Grace Christian Academy, and despite the cold weather and long travel, they came prepared to win. Right from the start, Rudolph ('26) made a statement by scoring in the first 45 seconds of the game, sending the ball directly into the box from a corner kick. This early goal set the tone, but the Tigers faced a strong challenge from GCA throughout the match.
McKay ('25) and Jones ('25) were standout defenders, helping to keep GCA’s offense in check while also aiding in pushing USN into attacking positions. Theobald ('27) then doubled the Tigers’ lead with a crucial goal to give the team more breathing room.
However, GCA was able to respond with a penalty kick, awarded after a handball in the USN box, making the score 2-1 and keeping the game tense. With the pressure on, the Tigers stayed composed under the lights and continued to press forward. Theobald ('27) came through again, scoring her second goal of the night to put the Tigers ahead 3-1.
Goalkeeper Chomsky ('25) had a strong performance, making 5 important saves to protect the Tigers’ lead. With this hard-fought road win, the Tigers advance to the State Quarterfinals, continuing their impressive postseason run.
