Tigers play a tough Pope Prep team

Tremendous play in goal from Tate Dawkins '30 kept this game closer than it could have been!
Despite being down a few players, the Tigers played one of their best games of the season.  Our first match on turf this year, we were unsure of the impact the playing surface would have.  It proved to help us keep the ball moving quickly, limiting our touches, and moving the ball to the outside.  Indigo Petraglia '29 and CC Cook '29 both did well to contain their attackers in the corners and prevent outside shots.  Amelia Wilson '29 was solid in the center mid position, especially defensively, getting her body behind the ball and breaking up the play of the Pope attack.

Kenzie Burke '29 moved back to the center mid position for this game and proved pivotal in the distribution of the ball to our outside players.  Layla Jahangir '29 and Hadley Green '29 both worked hard to get the ball down the line and put the Tigers in scoring position.

Unfortunately, we struggled to stop their attack on just a few occasions, but they were able to find the back of the net on our mistakes.  They were a skilled team and we played them well!
