The National Merit Scholarship Corp. has named seniors Devon Brown, Juno Callen, Penelope Graham, Stewart Hall, Erin Joyce, Ellie Klein, Stella Leibeskind, Lillian Martin, Joshua Muellenbach, and Amelie Soslow as commended students. A Letter of Commendation from USN and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation was presented to these scholastically talented seniors earlier this month. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. They place among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

These 11 USN students were selected as among the highest-scoring entrants in Tennessee from the pool of students who took the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They have an opportunity to continue in the competition for 6,870 National Merit Scholarships, which will be awarded in spring 2025.
