Summer Camps begin June 3 with new arrival, dismissal routines

USN Summer Camps will run Monday, June 3 through Friday, July 12. Because we move hundreds of campers and cars through a tight space, we have altered the drop-off and pick-up routines. Drivers must use Grand Avenue to reach USN and may either drive through USN's 19th Avenue lot to drop off campers or use short-term parking in Vanderbilt University lot 111.
By Rebecca Stokes, Director of Auxillary Services

The following protocols for drop-off and pick-up are new this year.  We will be moving a lot of campers and a lot of cars in a tight space. These options are intended to alleviate some of the stress this traffic can cause.  Please read through these instructions carefully prior to the start of your child’s camp.  Your child’s safety in this process is our number one priority. Please be patient with us and with one another. The school's address is 2000 Edgehill Ave., Nashville, TN, 37212.

Morning Drop-Off Options
For All Day and Morning Session Camps
Morning drop-off BEGINS at 7:35 a.m. You will have two options as outlined below:

1. Drop-off in the 19th Ave Parking Lot.
The 19th Ave parking lot will only be accessible by entering from Grand Ave (see map below). Please enter the parking lot, using the right and left lanes, leaving the center lane clear. Continue in these lanes unless otherwise directed. Camp staff will meet you at your car and help your campers to their meeting point.   For everyone's safety, please allow us to help unload the camper away from the middle lane and stay in your lane after unloading your child. Do NOT pull into the center lane.

Reminder: When your camper has safely unloaded, please turn on your turn signal/blinker to let our traffic guard know you are ready to go. This will ensure we get cars moving as quickly as possible. Do not proceed until instructed by staff to do so.

If you have extenuating circumstances or need to drop off medication on the first day, please use the far right lane and use the visitors' parking spots in the fenced parking area.

You will only be allowed to turn left to exit the 19th Ave. parking lot.

2. Ten Minute Parking in Vanderbilt Lot 111
Vanderbilt Lot 111 will be available for those who prefer to park and walk their child to their camp meeting location to sign in.  You will only be able to access this lot through the entrance on Edgehill Ave. (See map below). Any family that wishes to use Lot 111 for drop-off may do so. This is not a drop-off line. It is a park and walk option. Once you have parked, please make your way across 19th Ave to the camp meeting location.  There will be camp staff and a Vanderbilt Community Service Officer (CSO) there to help you find your way.
Each week there will be a few camps that will be required to use Lot 111 for morning Drop-Off.  This information can be found in the “Drop-Off and Pick-Up” pdf included in the weekly camp emails.  Please make sure to look for it there.
Lot 111 will also be the meeting point for these camps.  Once you have parked, please find your child’s camp instructor on the lawn to sign them in to their camp. They should be easy to spot!
If you have campers in both the Lot 111 Camps as well as any of the camps meeting in the 19th Ave lot, please sign in your Lot 111 campers first, and then walk your other campers across the street to sign in.
You may exit Lot 111 onto 19th Ave (Right turn ONLY) or onto Edgehill Ave.

**If your child is participating in a camp that will be leaving by bus for the River Campus, he or she needs to be here by 7:45am. The bus will leave at 8:00am for River Campus.
