USNA is excited to welcome its incoming Co-Presidents, Kim Kikkawa and Amy Tidwell. These two dedicated, passionate leaders bring a shared vision of inclusivity, connection, and community engagement. We sat down with them to learn more about their inspiration, goals for the upcoming year, and a few fun facts about their lives outside USNA. Here’s a look at what they had to say:

USNA is excited to welcome its incoming Co-Presidents, Kim Kikkawa and Amy Tidwell. These two dedicated, passionate leaders bring a shared vision of inclusivity, connection, and community engagement. We sat down with them to learn more about their inspiration, goals for the upcoming year, and a few fun facts about their lives outside USNA. Here’s a look at what they had to say:
Q: How old are your children, and what inspired you both to take on the role of USNA Co-President for the upcoming year?
Kim: "I have a son, Anderson, who is currently an eighth grader. I agreed to take on the role of USNA Co-President because, in the USN community, I found a group of people I want to get to know better. This is my village, and I want to get to know more people in this community. Being USNA Co-President allows me the opportunity to dive deeper into supporting this community, meet new people, and create opportunities for everyone to come together.”
Amy: "I have two children: Max, who is in seventh grade, and Emmy, who is in fifth grade. Taking on the role of Co-President was inspired by a feeling of love and admiration for USN. I really enjoy seeing how events, lunches, and gatherings come together, and I especially love that they make our community feel more connected. Being part of USNA has allowed me to build relationships that might not have existed otherwise, and I wanted to be part of that experience for others."Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourselves that not many people know?
Kim: "In January, I completed a dream 20 years in the making. I took a class at the New York Trapeze School. After a few minutes of training, I climbed the ladder, took a few deep breaths to calm my heart rate, and swung on a circus trapeze 30 feet in the air!”
Amy: "My husband and I are both Nashville natives (insert unicorn emoji!), and we love that Max and Emmy are fifth-generation Nashvillians!"
Q: If you could have any superpower to help you in your role as co-president, what would it be and why?
Kim: "Probably being able to read minds! What are people really thinking?"
Amy: "I would choose the ability to exist in more than one place at a time! There’s a lot going on at Edgehill, the River Campus, and, of course, at home. I wish I could be at all the activities all the time."Q: What is one overarching goal you both hope to achieve during your presidency?
Kim & Amy: "The overarching goal of our presidency is for everyone to feel welcome and included in USNA. We have both felt incredibly supported and welcomed during our time with USNA, and we want to make sure that everyone has the same experience.”Q: If you had to pick a theme song for your USNA presidency, what would it be?
Kim: "‘Celebration’ by Kool & The Gang."
Amy: "‘All Togetherher Now' by The Beatles."Looking Ahead: A Year of Unity and Growth
As Kim and Amy prepare to take on their roles as Co-Presidents of USNA, it’s clear that their leadership will be defined by a strong commitment to inclusion, connection, and creating lasting memories for all involved. Their enthusiasm, vision, and collaborative spirit will undoubtedly make the 2025-2026 school year one to remember.
