USN TheatreLink Videoconference

Session Two of Four

USN/TheatreLink Videoconference
Gus Gillette's students are participants this year in the Manhattan Theatre Club's TheatreLink program. On May 4, 2004, the seven students who comprise his Online Playwriting Project class (Colin, Laura, Hoyt, James, Kyle and Katherine, with new addition Sarah) met again (see the first session's slideshow) with teaching artist Chris Ceraso in a videoconference. During the session, Chris and his assembled group of TheatreLink staff watched a rehearsal run-through of the play written by collaborator students in Shannon, Texas. A later session will feature Middlesex, New Jersey students performing USN's play and USN's students performing the final version of the play written by Shannon's students.

After the performance, Chris spent nearly a half hour giving valuable director's notes to our students, with our students responding to the notes verbally and, at times, running through scenes with suggested changes. Here are some pictures from the interaction (click on the first picture to view the slides start to finish, or browse the thumbnails pages for individual pictures):
